TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION OF TANZANIA – TAT boasts of 450 members as at Dec 2022 and number is growing.
The members are grouped into three categories namely PLATNUM – 10%, GOLD 15% and SILVER - 85% .
The structure indicates of small transporters (SILVER) dominated the alliance ranging from ownership of 1 to 10 trucks and Middle size (GOLD) ownership ranges from 10 to 20 trucks while Platinum members are fewer with 20 and above trucks. There few Corporate membership applications being attended for enrolment quite soon
The association is playing a big role on advocacy on transporters grievances and issue of mutual interest to the authorities since its inception way 2015.
These includes unfavorable infrastructure conditions, hostile road rules and regulations from relevant government institutions such as TANROAD, LATRA etc. hiked taxes and unruly methods of enforcement.
Association had not lived short advising and educating its members on their responsibilities in acting in accordance of law and acting swiftly on issued orders and instructions from government tantamount to the development of the sector and nation as a whole.
Much happened under this Tri partite interaction that is –The Association, Members and the Government and that is why everyone is observing that harmony rules the day in our nation.
It is trusted that in the as years get by the number of members under all categories will increase substantially to increase the alliance for more better tomorrow.
Association welcomes affiliate Corporate membership from institutions trading or offering services in the industry ranging from –Truck parts dealers; Lubricant and oils dealers, Tyres, Insurance companies, Banks and all others as we think our association offers unique set of market segment to their products and services.
